ArcelorMittal at Bauma 2019

8-14 April 2019, München (Germany)

On stand 534, Hall A6, ArcelorMittal presented the latest innovations of Amstrong® Ultra and Relia® ranges of ultra-high strength and wear-resistant steels for building the mechanical equipments of the future.

Amstrong® Ultra is a new range of high strength steels for structural parts in transport, yellow and green goods, lifting and mechanical engineering industries. Amstrong® Ultra enables manufacturers reducing steel thickness and weight in mobile equipment.

Geert Van Heirseele, product manager, explains “Many companies think that the hardest high-strength steels are difficult to process. At Bauma, we will prove them that the latest Amstrong® Ultra generations are easy to cut, easy to bend and easy to weld. We are convinced they will open the door for new and innovative applications.”

Relia® is the ArcelorMittal’s range of high hardness, low-alloyed martensitic steels, offering outstanding resistance to abrasion, while offering a significant weight reduction. Principal application areas include construction and earthmoving, mining and mineral processing, demolition, waste and recycling.

This year, the stand featured real samples and videos, focusing on the enhanced processing capabilities of the steel in terms of bending, cutting and welding.

On top of this, Creusabro® was also showcased at Bauma. Creusabro® is an advanced impact and abrasion resistant steel, which strongly improves their wear resistance in service by a surface hardening effect of about +70 HB. Since many years, Creusabro® abrasion resistant steels provide optimal solutions that translate into major savings in fabrication and maintenance costs, increased productivity and enhanced machine performance.

On Wednesday, 10 April 2019, ArcelorMittal held a conference on "Toughness, resistance and up to 40% weight reduction thanks to high strength steel grades".
